Kathryn Gordon Shares the Truth-Telling Formula for a Great Relationship

Its wonderful to be in love and we all want that love to last. But the stresses of everyday life can get in the way. There are various roadblocks along the way and without the right tools, your relationship can fall into trouble. So, what is the secret to a successful and long-lasting relationship?  Kathryn Gordon shares the truth-telling formula for a great relationship.

Kathryn is a podcaster, movie producer, and speaker. She is the brains behind the podcast Kathryn For Real, where her guests share amazing stories, valuable lessons Kathryn is also a best-selling author. She co-authored the book Relationship Grit with her husband, Jon Gordon. Relationship Grit delves into relationships and what it takes to build a long-lasting marriage. In the book, Kathryn and her husband share their 23-year journey and how they overcame their obstacles to create a happy marriage.

According to Kathryn, there is no single secret to long-lasting relationships. Instead, a happy marriage results from combined efforts and understanding your partner, as every relationship is different and people have different needs and preferences.

“Romantic relationships are a bit harder to maintain because they possess more intimacy than other relationships,” says Kathryn. She explains that your partner is a big part of your life, and with the amount of closeness—emotional, physical, and even mental—it can be hard to find a perfect balance, especially when you don’t have a solid foundation. But it doesn’t mean developing a great relationship isn’t possible.

“You just need to build a strong foundation that includes honesty, trust, compassion, communication, and commitment. Rather than telling half-truths, be open to each other as it will help you grow and learn more about each other,” says Kathryn. “It also makes it easier to overcome obstacles.”

Besides being a podcaster and author, Kathryn is also an entrepreneur and a real estate investor. Finding a balance between her three careers and her marriage has not been easy.

It has been hard for Kathryn to build her brand. She grew up in an alcoholic home that was sometimes violent, forcing her to leave home at just 16. She explains that this affected her relationships, and it wasn’t until she was open with herself that she was able to let others in and even overcome these challenges.

Kathryn and her husband have managed to build a great relationship. They overcame the turbulence and are a strong, happy, and united couple. They are now helping others in relationships and business, as Kathryn shows her audience that your background doesn’t have to hinder you from building a great future.

You can have a difficult past and rise above it. You can also salvage your relationship and build a successful long lasting-marriage. You just have to be true to yourself and your partner—according to Kathryn, this is the truth-telling formula.

Being true to yourself will help you better understand your weaknesses, strengths, and what you are looking for in a significant other. Kathryn discusses more of this on her podcast, Kathryn For Real. She is also in the process of publishing a new book.
