Amazon Prime Has a New Exclusive Membership Option for Young Adults

Amazon used to have a Prime subscription tier specifically for college students; however, they’ve broadened their horizons and renamed this tier Prime for Young Adults.

Anyone aged 18 to 24 — college student or not — can sign up for this type of Prime membership.

There’s currently a six month free trial too. After that, the membership will cost $7.49 per month — half the cost of a standard Prime membership.

A Prime for Young Adults membership includes standard Prime perks like free two-day, one-day and same-day Amazon deliveries, as well as cheaper food delivery on Grubhub+.

The perks don’t end there. Prime for Young Adults members also get:

  • One month of free homework help and live tutoring with Course Hero — and a steep discount on a Course Hero subscription if they wish to continue using it after the first month
  • Up to a year of certain Prime Video channels at 99 cents per month (as opposed to the usual cost of $4.99 to $7.99 per month, depending on the channel)
  • Two months of Kindle Unlimited for free
  • Three months of free meditations on the Calm app — and a steep discount on the app if they wish to continue using it after that
  • Up to four years of Amazon Music Unlimited at $5.99 per month (as opposed to the usual cost of $9.99 or more per month)
  • Up to 10% off certain flights and hotels through StudentUniverse

The membership also includes Amazon Photos, Prime Video, Prime Gaming, Prime Reading, Amazon Music and more. Young Adult members get discounts on certain games, tech and accessories, health products, groceries and apparel too.

These discounts aren’t shareable, though. A Prime for Young Adults membership doesn’t include household sharing like a standard Prime membership does.
