GameOn Entertainment Technologies Inc. (CSE: GET) (OTCQB: GMETF) (FSE: 9E7) (“GameOn” or the “Company”), a leader in providing white-label fan engagement technologies for sports, TV and live events to broadcasters, networks, OTT platforms and more, has successfully acquired FanClash, real-time fantasy technology produced by London’s InPlay Labs. This acquisition positions GameOn to expand its services into the fantasy sports, e-sports and entertainment market, a market worth $18.6 billion today with projections of $48.6 billion by 2027.
The value of the acquisition is highly strategic, positioning the company to offer richer fan engagement across its many partnerships through the implementation of white label fantasy league components. According to GameOn CEO Matt Bailey:
“We couldn’t be happier to finalize the acquisition of InPlay Labs’ deeply impressive FanClash platform. Having worked for numerous sports teams and brands, I understand the passion of the sports fan community — especially surrounding fantasy sports. Bringing real-time fantasy tech into the GameOn portfolio will drive ever-deeper engagement for partners who build our white label solutions into their entertainment and sports offerings.”
In its current form, the FanClash platform enables global fantasy competitions centered on live sports events. The technology platform is proprietary, driving innovative gameplay opportunities. Fans can compete via FanClash for real cash prizes, providing enhanced incentives for ongoing engagement beyond mere enjoyment or love of the game.
And as this technology comes into the GameOn portfolio, the current FanClash implementation is just the beginning. GameOn’s Chief Product Officer Santiago Jaramillo elaborates on the company’s plans for FanClash:
“While FanClash’s existing use case centers on European football, the technology is impressively flexible. As we integrate FanClash and other tech assets from InPlay, we’ll roll out FanClash’s real-time fantasy technology as another of the GameOn white label products that our partners can use. We expect broad adoption in sports as well as other spaces, like reality TV, news, and even elections.”
Through this acquisition, GameOn now offers broadcasters, TV networks, OTT platforms, leagues, tournaments, sportsbooks and even NFT platforms the ability to bolt on a white label fantasy component. Partners gain the ability to keep fans on the platform and in the ecosystem by providing fantasy experiences previously only available on other domains and platforms.
In addition to the FanClash real-time fantasy technology, GameOn also acquires the technology behind InPlay’s UFL app, a no. 1 sports app with 1.6 million active users. Along with the technology acquisition, GameOn has also added the founder of InPlay to its staff. Sohail Godall joins GameOn as VP of Product and Head of Europe, positioning the company for ever-deeper product development as well as global reach.
Godall said this of the transition to the GameOn team:
“GameOn is doing some amazing things in the superfan engagement space, some of which are remarkably similar to what InPlay is doing for fantasy specifically. The alignment between our two companies was obvious from the start, and I’m thrilled to make this move, joining GameOn as the company continues aggressive global growth.”
This acquisition comes on the heels of other successful launches and moves for GameOn:
- The company recently launched free-to-play cricket prediction games centered on the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in partnership with MX Player, recently surpassing 2,000,000 predictions.
- Upon that success, MX Player and GameOn partnered to produce further prediction games for soccer, tennis and kabaddi.
- Kevin Garnett-backed Gaming Society licensed GameOn’s proprietary tech for women’s sports predictor games covering the US WNBA and NWSL, among others.
The company is well situated with appropriate cash reserves and strong revenue projections and has already secured numerous licensing arrangements since its launch. With an ever-growing public appetite for customized fan engagement and now the infusion of real-time fantasy technology into the company’s offerings, GameOn is poised for aggressive, scalable growth.
