Used car prices continue to fall, making a “new to you” vehicle more affordable for millions of drivers.
Prices overall were down 5.4% year-over-year in October, according to automotive website iSeeCars. The average used car now costs $32,801.
For a handful of models, the price drop has been even more notable. Following are the models with the biggest price drops in the past year.
15. Buick Enclave
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $31,986 (which is 6.4% lower than it was in October 2022)
Edmunds praises the Buick Enclave, a midsize SUV with three rows of seating, for having a quiet, smooth ride and plenty of room for both cargo and passengers.
14. Audi Q5
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $32,646 (which is 8.5% lower than it was in October 2022)
U.S. News & World Report says the Audi Q5 has a zippy four-cylinder engine and a touch screen that is easy to use, giving it an overall rating of 8.1 out of 10.
13. Kia Stinger
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $32,811 (which is 8.8% lower than it was in October 2022)
Car and Driver says the Kia Stinger offers a lot of value and that the four-door hatchback runs as good as it looks.
12. Alfa Romeo Stelvio
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $30,431 (which is 9% lower than it was in October 2022)
Motor Trend lauds the Alfa Romeo Stelvio as one of the most beautiful SUVs. It also offers a sporty drive.
11. Cadillac XT4
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $31,373 (which is 9.2% lower than it was in October 2022)
Kelley Blue Book loves the cabin space in the Cadillac XT4 and says the subcompact SUV comes with “generous” standard equipment.
10. Lexus UX 250h
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $32,931 (which is 9.9% lower than it was in October 2022)
Edmunds says the Lexus UX 250h has excellent fuel economy and that its smaller size is an advantage in the city.
9. Nissan Armada
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $32,268 (which is 10.8% lower than it was in October 2022)
U.S. News & World Report says the Nissan Armada, a large SUV, has a comfortable interior and comes with many standard features.
8. Genesis G70
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $30,689 (which is 10.9% lower than it was in October 2022)
Car and Driver calls the Genesis G70‘s cabin “gorgeous” and says the compact luxury car is fast and fun to drive.
7. Volvo XC40
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $31,302 (which is 11.7% lower than it was in October 2022)
Kelley Blue Book says the Volvo XC40 is both stylish and safe. The publication likes that the subcompact luxury SUV comes with standard all-wheel drive.
6. Audi A5 Sportback
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $32,230 (which is 12.3% lower than it was in October 2022)
Car and Driver says the Audi A5 Sportback marries a premium driving experience with the practicality of a hatchback.
5. Volvo S60
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $29,507 (which is 14.4% lower than it was in October 2022)
Motor Trend says the Volvo S60 offers a nice design and good value. The publication also lauds the Volvo S60 for being safe.
4. BMW 2 Series
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $31,116 (which is 15.8% lower than it was in October 2022)
Car and Driver says the BMW 2 Series has great brakes and offers “athletic” handling.
3. Chevrolet Blazer
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $29,062 (which is 16.6% lower than it was in October 2022)
Kelley Blue Book says the Chevrolet Blazer offers aggressive styling. It also praises the vehicle’s easy-to-use infotainment system.
2. BMW i3
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $27,748 (which is 18.1% lower than it was in October 2022)
U.S. News & World Report says the BMW i3 is quick off the line and has a cabin — including recycled cloth upholstery — that will appeal to environmentally conscious drivers.
1. Tesla Model 3
Average price of a 3-year-old used car as of September 2023: $32,861 (which is 28.9% lower than it was in October 2022)
Edmunds likes the Tesla Model 3‘s modern interior and the fact that it offers a lot of range.
