U.S. stocks were slightly on Wednesday afternoon, but off the session’s worst levels, with technology stocks leading the losses after disappointing guidance from software giant Microsoft Corporation led investors to weigh how badly corporate profits will be hit by a slowing economy.

On Tuesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 104 points, or 0.31%, to 33,733, the S&P 500 declined 3 points, or 0.07%, to 4,017, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 30 points, or 0.27%, to 11,334.
