Costco Is Offering $2,500 Off EVs This Summer

Costco members shopping for an electric vehicle can save a little extra money on their purchase through July 31.

Incentives of $2,500 now are available on certain Volvo EV models.

Additionally, incentives of $1,000 are available for specific Volvo non-electric models, including sedans, SUVs and wagons.

The $2,500 incentive is being offered on two EVs:

  • Volvo C40 Recharge, a crossover vehicle
  • Volvo XC40 Recharge, a compact SUV

Non-electric cars that are part of the $1,000 incentive include the following:

  • Volvo XC90, a seven-seat SUV
  • Volvo XC60, a midsize SUV
  • Volvo XC40, a compact SUV
  • Volvo S90, a sedan
  • Volvo S60, a sedan
  • Volvo V90 Cross Country, a wagon
  • Volvo V60 Cross Country, a wagon

The promotion is part of the Costco Auto Program, which is available to members of the warehouse club. Through this program, Costco members get prearranged special pricing on vehicles, plus access to national manufacturer incentives.

To take advantage of either incentive, visit the Costco Auto Program website and choose the model in which you are interested. Then, register to receive a certificate.

Once you have the certificate in hand, simply bring it to any Volvo dealership to cash in on the deal.

This is not the first time Costco has offered a deal to members shopping for EVs. According to Green Car Reports:

“Costco has been offering limited-time deals on new cars to its members since 2007. That’s included other electric vehicles—most notably a deal that helped members achieve a $13,000 discount on the 2019 Audi E-Tron when it was new. In 2017 Costco offered General Motors supplier pricing on the then-new Chevrolet Bolt EV, and it later offered a $107/month lease deal on the 2022 Bolt EV to members in specific regions.”

Although Costco members can get a deal on a new car, purchasing something used typically will save drivers more in the long run. If you are looking for a deal on a preowned vehicle, check out the “10 Used Car Models With Plummeting Prices (Finally).”
