Summer is almost here, and many employees are planning vacations — and not skimping on their time away.
With the COVID-19 pandemic seeming to subside for now, workers can’t wait to get away.
In 2019, just 28% of employees planned on maxing out their vacation days, according to FlexJobs. Then came the pandemic, and a new set of priorities in its aftermath. Today, 85% of Americans plan to take a summer vacation, and 48% of them intend to take at least two weeks off.
Those who work for the right company also might not have to pay for everything on their trip. FlexJobs says the following 10 remote-friendly companies help cover the cost of employee vacations:
- Thirty Madison
- United Airlines
Each of these companies offers some type of perk that can help make employee vacations more feasible financially. For example, FlexJobs reports that:
- Airbnb gives employees an annual travel and experience credit.
- BambooHR offers “paid paid vacation” — $2,000 each year for employees to travel.
- Evernote gives employees unlimited vacation days and a $1,000 annual vacation stipend.
- Expedia offers workers travel reimbursement of up to $750, with longtime employees getting more the generous amounts. Workers also get extra discounts on retail and travel packages purchased through Expedia.
